Prime Ministers - Take a Ride

Prime Ministers - Take a Ride

Prime Ministers (Ecuador, Guayaquil) was born to pursue the purest essence of rock, reaching audiences with a clear message and with a sound, loyal to the nature of the genre and the artistic movements that originated it. Ernesto and Nacho, leaders of this band , met in their teens. Since then, their common passion for music has led them to share not only musical experiences in different bands, but personal experiences as well. There are those who firmly believe that when you have a true passion, it will follow you until it catches up with you, and forces you to act upon it, bringing a new meaning to every experience youve lived, every step of the road.

The band introduces its first album, a production in English that evokes the essence of the rock genre, with daunting lyrics that explore the evolution of the human soul.

Quito, Ecuador (MMD Newswire) February 18, 2009 -- The rock band Prime Ministers, which includes Ernesto Estrada (guitar, vocals), Nacho Granja (guitar, vocals), Jorge Luis "Pala"Varela (guitar), Pedro Argüello (bass) and Jaime "Chimo" Solórzano (drums) presents its album Take a Ride, a compendium of 12 songs that unearths the 60s' rock sound and brings it back to life with an interesting sequence worth listening to closely.

"This production combines our personal experiences and is-at the same time-a different, more honest artistic proposal, because it's pure rock, without fusion," explains Ernesto Estrada, one of the band's leaders and composer of many of its lyrics.

The creative process started as a therapeutic expression of their life struggles, a process that has helped them mature in an artistic sense and that has enriched their work.

The album's tracks follow an order that takes the listener down a path from darkness to light. Take a Ride starts with Dead Man Walking, a song that deals with depression. It's the starting point for a rhythmic, spiritual evolution that fast-forwards towards liberation in the 11th track, Let Love Rule. Each song has its raison d'etre and guides the audience towards the certainty that the only way to happiness is to let love rule our lives.

The work was produced in English, a language in which the band feels comfortable composing and singing, the language they actually call "their rock n roll mother tongue."

"60s rock was one of our most important influences," says Nacho Granja. "We're betting on that irreverent sound and, in that way, we pay tribute to new musical challenges. In each of our songs, there is plenty of attitude, and a constant exploration that makes our music richer."

Initially, the band planned to create this independent production in a period of three months. The level of perfectionism and excellence they were looking for, however, forced them to take their time and look for the support of well-known professionals such as Randy Staub (Nettwerk/The Warehouse Studio). The band agrees that his contribution to the album's mix was crucial. Additionally, world-famous George Marino (Sterling Sound) was in charge of the master.

"This production was made with a very high level of" quality notes Jorge Luis Varela. "Our criteria was simply to take the product to its highest level, working with people who would know how to maximize it."

Adds Varela: "There is no way to describe how great it feels to work with people who really know what they are doing and who can easily understand your particular needs. And, at the end, you can notice it when you listen to the finished product."

The high bar established by Prime Ministers can also be seen in the artwork and design elements of the album, created by the artist James Verdesoto, who joined the project because of the quality and freshness of the band's approach.

Prime Ministers' first promotional single will be Smoking Monkeys. The video clip, a tribute to Stanley Kubrick, was produced in Ecuador by Franz Córdova, and features renowned actress and top model Inés Rivero.
